Critical Infrastructure Monitoring
Thank you for taking the time to explore IoT and software solutions with Pêche Strategy. We are excited about the opportunity to provide support through our consultative, white-glove approach to industrial IoT solutions - focusing on seamless device selection, deployment, and ongoing support.
Predictive Maintenance
Avoiding downtime and costly repairs goes beyond reactive fixes - proactive insights are the new competitive edge. Pêche Strategy maintains a portfolio of robust, battery-powered, and manufacturer- and network-agnostic devices designed for harsh industrial environments, allowing you to stay focused on productivity and growth. By harnessing real-time insights into critical systems, you can proactively prevent downtime, lower energy usage, and streamline compliance efforts.
Production Machine Example:
Real time machine health data allows manufacturers to predict break downs and schedule repairs during breaks in production, significantly reducing costs and maximizing revenue generating activities. Because manufacturing facilities represent decades of investment and a conglomeration of production machines that span programming languages and communication protocols, bringing each of those machines into the same technology infrastructure is typically beyond the budget or expertise of operations teams. Now, software integration platforms and a suite of measurement sensors ensure the data needed for predictive maintenance can be captured.
For one production facility, vibration, temperature, and other types of sensors were utilized to capture health data on machines spanning lathes and drills from the late-1800’s to the 1980’s, and software integrations were used to collect data on digital infrastructure including state-of-art CNC machines. This deployment led to multiple break downs caught before failure, where every production day lost costs millions of dollars. Analytic dashboards provide uptime monitoring for efficiencies, runtime monitors for scheduled maintenance, and anomaly detection for predictive maintenance.
Critical Infrastructure Example:
Air filtration systems are both expensive and critical in production facilities, but since they operate out of sight, their inefficiencies can be unknown and costly. In one case study from SRT Labs, to optimize the use of MERV-13 filters in a large campus, daily power consumption and filter pressure were monitored to pinpoint the optimal time for filter replacement. Analytics dashboards and tailored logic balanced the energy usage and filter costs to automate alerts for replacement timing. Implementation of these methods at a representative campus with 25 buildings, each equipped with multiple Air Handler Units (AHU) lead to savings of $75,000 per year.
Integrating smart monitoring technologies, either by upgrading existing Building Automation Systems (BAS) or through cost-effective aftermarket solutions, ensures the long term savings through continuous recording of energy use and filter performance data over the filter lifecycle, further enhancing decision-making accuracy and cost-efficiency. With the recent decrease in monitoring technology costs alongside the increased expense of high-quality air filters, manufacturers can now economically sustain optimal indoor air quality and significantly reduce HVAC operational expenses.
Immediate Benefits
Real-Time Machine Health Monitoring. Schedule essential maintenance during planned downtime to ensure consistent uptime and reduce breakdowns. Machine health data creates the base layer needed for analytics and alerts on your most critical assets and with this information your team can make the most informed decisions.
Automated Alerts and Automations. Prioritize the most time sensitive and mission critical tasks with text messages and emails to maintenance and operations teams. Tailored logic for your production and machines maximizes uptime and revenue generation.
Advanced Analytics and Dashboarding. See the entire facility in a single dashboard with map views and analytics based on your needs, to ensure operations are aligned with revenue targets and strategic goals. Industrial IoT sensors digitize analog machines and monitor environmental conditions, while software integrations can capture digital machines and building management systems - pulling all of the information into a single Mission Control Center.
Additional Applications
Detecting performance issues long before they escalate into costly outages increases productivity and revenue while bolstering safety and compliance. A few examples beyond critical machines include:
Air Flow and Air Filters. Maintains optimal filtration and airflow for improved safety and air quality.
Differential Pressure Monitoring. Monitor pressure drops across HVAC components and flag performance bottlenecks.
Hydraulic System Pressure. Tracks fluid pressure to prevent leaks and ensure stable operation.
Air Compressor Operation. Monitors efficiency and reduces energy consumption.
Liquid Storage Tank Level. Prevents overflows and automates replenishment notifications.
Boiler & Chiller Pressure and Temperature Monitoring. Prevents overheating, detects leaks, and ensures stable heat exchange.
